Launch Event - Carbon Supply Cost Curves: Evaluating Financial Risk to Gas Capital Expenditures

In 2014, Carbon Tracker started a new research series entitled ‘Carbon Supply Cost Curves’ and released two global studies on Oil and Coal which provide a tool for investors to understand their risk exposure and direct capital away from high-cost, carbon-intensive projects.

Carbon Tracker is now launching a new report on the global Gas sector: “Carbon Supply Cost Curves: Evaluating Financial Risk to Gas Capital Expenditures” which takes a look at three global gas markets (Europe, North America and LNG) in the context of the energy transition, examining where there may be unneeded capacity and capital expenditure in a low demand scenario. The report identifies the highest cost and most carbon-intensive gas projects around the world, including unconventional gas developments.
