Matt first worked as an advisor to Carbon Tracker in 2015, leading on European power utilities and global gas demand research. He has since joined permanently as a senior analyst, covering power generation technologies and utilities to inform Carbon Tracker’s analysis of the energy transition. This work draws in part on Matt’s previous experience as an analyst at the International Energy Agency, Jefferies, Credit Suisse and the UK’s Department of Energy and Climate Change.

Matt has a Master of Science with Distinction from the University of Manchester and a Bachelor of Applied Science with Honours from the University of Otago. He is an avid surfer and supporter of the New Zealand rugby team.
